Cordless Impact Wrenches
Our website
provides information on the benefits of cordless impact wrenches to enable you to decide on choosing the
cordless impact wrench for your next power drill.
Cordless impact wrenches
are far tougher, more powerful and are far more versatile than their look alike cousins, the cordless power
drill. The technology that is put
into today's cordless impact wrenches means they are more compact, far lighter, smaller and have on
tap an enormous amount of power to enable the tough jobs to be
done.
When you are looking at
what type of drill to buy, consider the cordless impact wrench rather than just buying the standard
around the house power drill. If you want more torque and more power for the same price of a power drill, then
you should select a cordless impact wrench as
it will deliver what you need. You will also find the versatility that the cordless impact wrenches
provides in being more lightweight, being smaller to get into those hard to get places
and having the power you need will enable you to get the job done
quicker.
The
cordless impact
wrenches are made differently to the hammer drills and the power drills, the
cordless impact
wrenches create their rotational torque through the gearing mechanism that is
being driven by the spring loaded pulsating cam. This difference enables them to deliver there
additional power to the job at hand and the power is not wasted, as is the case with hammer drills and the
power drills. You will notice this power difference when you use the different drills. Often a power
drill or a hammer drill doing a hard job will twist or kick back in your hand. This never
happens with cordless impact
wrenches as there power is delivered at the end of the drill, not in the
hand.
Jobs that the
cordless impact
wrenches are well suited for are the fastening of drywall or metal roofing, the
drilling into concrete of bolts and screws, overhead work and any other tough job you have at work or around
the house. The cordless impact
wrenches power feels the same as the general power drill in the low ranges,
however once you pull the acceleration trigger you will feel and appreciate the difference. They are also a
little bit more noisier when the trigger is fully pressed but this isn't for long as the job is done very
quickly due to their power and you will not need to exert a lot of pressure to get the fastener to
tighten. This is because the cordless power wrench is designed to do this without strong pressure from the
operator. This is one of the problems with the power drill, you have to exert pressure for the really hard
jobs, which puts a load on the drill, which if done often enough, will see them not lasting a very long
time.
The cordless impact wrench
can operate like a normal power drill as it can easily drill holes up to a 7/8 inch diameter. Being
lightweight and smaller (upwards of 40% smaller than a power drill) the cordless impact wrench
can be used all day without you getting tired from a more heavy power drill (some impact power wrenches are half
the weight of a power drill) which also has less power, which means you will probably be applying more pressure
to the power drill to get the job
done.
The cordless impact wrench
has a fast release chuck, so you don't have to waste time in fiddling and continuing tightening the chuck, like you
have to do with a power drill chuck. The chuck on the cordless impact
wrenches is much bigger than the power tool and with the power of these wrenches they
are now rivaling the power of impact
wrenches that are on an electric cord. Battery life of the cordless impact wrench is
much better than the power drill, due to the heavy duty materials used in the gear case, gearing and bearings, that
require less power to be drawn from the
battery.
All the big manufacters
of power tools make cordless impact wrenches,
these include Makita, Bosch, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Panasonic and
Ingersoll-Rand.
